Black Country Bonanza!

Just read in the current issue of Classic Rock magazine (in shops in the UK today) that Black Country Communion have already booked the studio to record their second album in January. Glenn Hughes explains that the band would like to be in a position to play a full set of Black Country songs when they start touring, and, with that in mind, are laying down their second studio set ASAP. In an age in which so many musicians of a certain age take years and years to get a new studio album out (I’m talking to you, Aerosmith!) – keeping the fans sweet with the occassional live album, covers album, re-recordings of classics, Greatest Hits with a couple of new songs tagged on, etc. – BCC’s approach is certainly refreshing. And, given the fantastic results that the whirlwind recording of their debut yielded, I am confident that they will deliver the goods again. Hughes further stated that the band plans to go out on the festival circuit in the summer, fitting in other dates around that period; “I want ‘Classic Rock’ readers to know that we’ve all cleared our schedules for 2011. The new album and then the tour get our fullest attention”. Welcome words indeed.
