As Tori Amos might put it. There’s been lots of great rock music – especially courtesy of the genre’s elder statesmen – and I’ve also had the opportunity to enjoy some fun and interesting travel adventures, in Korea and Serbia. I’m hopeful that 2013 will be even better, and am anticipating with great interest and intrigue new studio sets from two of classic rock’s biggest hitters, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. I really hope the Purps can deliver a belting set, what with so many fans being so sniffy about their post-Blackmore output – and the idea of a new Ozzy-fronted Sabbath album after all this time is just fascinating. (I wonder which album it should be regarded as the follow up to? The Devil You Know? Forbidden? Or Never Say Die?)
Best wishes for the new year to all my readers. Check back in the new year for a look back at some of the hard rockin’ highlights of 2012, in the form of my top ten songs of the year list.
