Premier League Predictions: 11/05/14

And so, the end is near . . . a pity Liverpool’s title challenge has all but evaporated, and relegation is effectively settled as well: was hoping it would all still be up for grabs on the last day. So, it’s all up to Big Sam and his not so happy Hammers to take things down to the wire. There would be a delicious irony in Andy Carroll scoring the winner against City to hand the title to Liverpool. But I really can’t see it:

Sunday

Cardiff 0 – 3 Chelsea *
Fulham 1 – 2 Crystal Palace
Hull City 1 – 3 Everton **
Liverpool 4 – 1 Newcastle *
Man City 2 – 0 West Ham ***
Norwich 0 – 3 Arsenal *
Southampton 2 – 1 Man Utd
Sunderland 2 – 1 Swansea
Tottenham 3 – 0 Aston Villa ***
West Brom 1 – 1 Stoke City

(It’s also Ryan Giggs’s last chance to maintain his record of scoring in every Premier League season. He should start himself, install himself as penalty taker – and tell Ashley Young to get up to his old antics in the box!)

The verdict . . .

Correct Result Forecast

Me: 60%
Merse: 90%

Super Terrific Accuracy Rating (STAR)

Me: 32%
Merse: 50%

Fair play, Merse, you nailed it this time. However, it’s still 4-3 to me, and the season’s over now! Look forward to doing battle for the entire season next time . . .
